A few years ago, hamburgers and pancakes were still being baked, but from today on, a lot of meetings are held. The building on the N35 near Heino, where the Peter Pan restaurant used to be, was reopened this morning as Bij de Buurvrouw.
The Train- and Werkcentrum Zwolle also moved into the building. "We guide people from a benefit situation to the labor market," says manager of the Nico Buitink building.
He continues: "For example, we provide training here on construction safety and emergency response. We also train people to become solar panel fitters."
The training center is on the first floor of the former restaurant. The meeting center is located on the ground floor. "We mainly focus on meetings and workshops. But we also have a room that we rent out for parties and parties."
The kitchen of the former restaurant is used for the preparation of lunches. "We want to be able to provide people who meet here with lunch or soup. Incidentally, the lunchroom is also accessible to private individuals," says Buitink.
Three weeks of weeding
A lot of work had to be done before Bij de Buurvrouw could be opened. "The building had been empty for three years and had been heavily stunned. We spent three weeks pulling weeds and giving it a fresh color."
Those who want to take a look at the new meeting location can walk in at the "receipt tip". The coffee is free until November 1.
